You’re invited!
- Event: Bridge Mixer at Seattle Bridge Center
- Who: Anyone interested in the game of Bridge — whether you already play, or not!
- When: Wednesday, December 26th, 7pm – 10pm
What’s going on
The holiday season is playing havoc with our regularly scheduled games, so let’s mix it up and have some fun!
Maybe you’re a bridge player who would like to introduce a friend or two to the game — bring them along! No partner? No problem. Come meet new people!
What we’ll do
At the start of the evening, we’ll spend 15-20 minutes learning how to play Minibridge. Minibridge makes it easy to learn some of the basics of the game of Bridge.
Then we’ll split up into groups of 4-7 people. Decide your partnerships and how extra players will rotate into play. Each group then plays Bridge or Minibridge (whichever the group chooses) in shuffle-and-deal play.
We’ll use bidding boxes and we’ll take tricks in duplicate style. Discussion after each hand is encouraged, but remember to keep it friendly!
Play with your group for about 45 minutes, then we’ll mix up the groups and do it again. Bring your sense of adventure! You can expect to change partners each time we mix the groups.
This event is appropriate for families and adults. Under-18s should be accompanied by an adult.
Bridge is a “brain” game — if you’re bringing kids, be confident they have the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
